About
Onofrio arrived in Torquay from Italy on May 21st 1961 with a haircut and suit just as sharp as the scissors he travelled with. He started work the next day.
It took him until November 1962 to open his own salon. Never just a Barber, Onofrio cut and coiffed his way through the most dapper males in the Bay fashioning styles through the sixties, seventies and eighties embracing trends brought by each decade.
By the late nineties his son took over the chair, embracing the craft handed down from father to son. Expanding the salon whilst always remaining true to the Onofrio ethos, schooling colleagues in the way his father taught him – technique, precision and suitability.
Always about the style. Setting standards envied by others.

“…..my first return to the shop since lockdown and have to say it went above and beyond my expectations. The set up is slick and time spent practicing shielding safety made the experience worth going. I did have my reservations about going because of this and now feel comfortable returning for my regular cuts. Thanks guys”
